Concept Note
Interface was a series of Contemporary Chamba Rumals by Swati Kalsi for Delhi Crafts Council. The product was a result of a two year long intense collaboration between Swati, miniature artists Parixit, Jai Prakash, and embroidery artisans of CHARU (DCC's center in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh).

The traditional Chamba Rumal was the inspiration and the starting point for the collection both in terms of themes and techniques. Yet it was a departure, an interface where timeless themes are narrated anew- where designer, miniature artist, and embroiderers come together seeking a fresh interpretation of context, meaning and tradition.
